Curious and challenging. That’s what i thought when i decided to end up my dead-alive life in 2019. Embarking on a quest where the answers never end. Finding the unseen, unknown, and undiscovered true self-lit me up the challenge in my life. ‘Now or never’ is the best advice at that time to make my move forward sailing across for an unpredictable journey. In this episode, i want to share my experiences finding the never-ending answers that direct me to where i am becoming and where would it be my end of the journey.

The Beginning

I remember it was a fine day as a normal in usual day, but it was an unusual condition for the world at that time. It coincides with a global pandemic, the covid-19. As i shared in the previous episode, i use my time for searching my undiscovered myself. And i found my unseen potential a lot.

Really enjoy every moment of my life but finding my true self is more challenging and there’s no end. So, this is the beginning of the journey of exploring the unseen world to feed my curiosity. The day that made me blew up and face unprecedented moments of my life.

I didn’t know where my path would lead — it could just as easily lead to tragedy as to paradise. Death and enlightenment were equal possibilities, and there was no way to predict which i might stumble upon first.

The Man has Disappeared

I open my laptop and set on my comfortable chair and am ready to search what possible i have to explore. Luckily the city i lived in, is still in a safe condition during government regulation about covid-19 protocols (PPKM). I started with local destinations which easily to reach. I pack my bag and ready to go after i found what i want to do.

I’m not an expert in any field. I just being bold and conduct myself by my intuition. I rarely react but i always notice because i don’t want my mind to feel bridled. Like The Beatles said, “Free as a bird”. But I have something else which most people don’t. I can confidently say that I have undergone an epic journey of self-discovery. I have spent many years in relentless pursuit of self-understanding. Instead of going the traditional route like most people, I went a different way. I went in search of answers to life’s most profound questions — who am I, what am I doing here, what’s the meaning of life? Questions that we don’t often ask ourselves, except perhaps in tragic circumstances and there’s always a way.

I have dedicated my entire adult life to this pursuit, and in so doing I have gained a kind of insight that cannot be obtained by merely studying philosophy or metaphysics. An insight that comes only from inquiring directly into the depths of one’s own mind. And i found it while on my longtime journey. Disappear for a while and challenge yourself to gain more perspective from the path have you chosen, which will lead you to the beautiful scenery.

The Journey

I’ve been through many cities in Java. For me, traveling was the best decision i’ve ever made in my life. Now or never is the perfect encouragement whip to my mind. Whether going alone or with your friends it doesn’t matter. The matter is the journey because a true journey brought you to decent experiences for learning to face the world through different perspectives.

My purpose is to learn from my experience and convert that experience into energy, kind of like a roller coaster at the top of a big drop. It takes that roller coaster tons of energy to reach the top of the hill, just like it takes a lot of willpower to change your life. And just when you’ve reached the top and you’re ready to make a move, fear immobilizes you. Your stomach tightens and your heart rate quickens. At this point, you have one of two options. You can either stay at the top and learn to live with vertigo at the edge of the precipice. Or you can throw your hands up in the air and enjoy the ride.

The first time i traveled, i didn’t learn a damn thing. I was too busy treating myself like a celebrity with an idealistic way to comfort my ego. Looking back, I realize that idealistic adventures are not good investments. You spend so much time trying to fit everything into your tiny schedule. The best way to gain more unexpected experiences is by being spontaneous. It doesn’t mean we don’t have any schedule or plan, but it can be used as urgent situations.

By being spontaneous it can open your mind widely to feel and react the real-field situations. You will gradually be able to feel your instincts working, all your sense are sensitive, your mind working hard, and your whole body completely moves. Action! Just action. Like Tom Cruise said to Milles Teller in Top Gun Maverick movie:

Don’t Think, Just Do!”

Spontaneous taught me how to use and believe 100% my instinct works. because traveling really opens your true self through your potential. Why i can say this because i’ve felt it and a lot of perspectives i’ve collected and learned during traveling. The first time may be challenging and really pressure your blood. Don’t doubt yourself try to understand the meaning and think clearly. It is more helpful than doubting yourself.

This pattern can open your true self and you will shock about it as i did! You will know more about yourself and build up your confidence through what is in front of your eyes. Maybe it can make you confused at the beginning, but life must go on, and you have no choice being surrender.

Facing what’s on in front of our eyes can make us feel peaceful because of less overthinking. The main is we should do our best to face the reality in front of us.

It’s different between facing reality with surrending conditions. Facing reality taught you to see the situation clearly. Thinking clearly makes us easier to make decisions towards the next step. True self-fulfillment comes from new and real experiences. In my experience, if we believe in real situations it can help us to find a better way than grumbling about it. We can have conversations with the locals. As we humans living in this world, no need to feel lonely cause there are still people who can help us whenever we are as long we dare to take real action.

People’s Eyes

What does traveling with a purpose mean to you? To me, it has nothing to do with being independent, helping the poor, or knocking things off my bucket list. Traveling is a risk worth taking. It’s the ultimate investment in yourself. My purpose is to learn from my experience and convert that experience into energy. The energy of being kind, the energy of accepting reality, the energy of curiosity, the energy of being down to earth, and the energy of finding our true selves.

That kind of energy leads us to see a different perspective from other people. Why i always say different perspectives? Because traveling introduces you to many people and many people have different perspectives about what they thought. Living abroad lets you absorb the culture, the people, and the things that made it possible for you to know more about yourself. When you learn from your surroundings, you start to notice what drives you, and what makes you the way you are.

There are a lot of prizes when you can deal with yourself with other people. They can be good for your next path, or they can be your future safer. Be kind to others, because we never know if the people we help might help us in the future. Occasionally in weird and unexplained conditions.

The other prize when we can deal with people we met is we freely enter their network. It’s a good chance to be human. More friends mean more connections and more easy to gain success in life. People are easy to adapt and humble to strangers. But not to give our trust 100%, we still have awareness because we never met before. We just know their perspective about life, but we can’t watch their actual life in real life. But believe me, every people in this world are kind if we also be kind.

People Come and Go

Here’s a little glimpse of the side of traveling that the world didn’t know. This is the hardest reality to face. But have a lot of meaning and lessons for our life. Traveling is hard. It takes you through a surplus of emotions and desperate periods of self-doubt. In order to overcome these challenges, traveling forces you to learn the art of letting go.

Not only for the memories, experiences, and places but importantly the people you connect to your life. It is the hardest truth that the people we meet are temporary. It means they can easily go from our life. It’s okay because people come and go. The thing is we should deal with it.

It is true that we can’t choose our friends based on strangers we met. It just goes with the flow. But during traveling, the people I’ve met always leave with such extraordinary wisdom for my life. It can be good wisdom, or smacking wisdom it depends on the people. But mostly they give me good wisdom for me to write down in my life. See the perspective of many people is like an opening window from a skyscraper building. You are at the peak floor, and you can see the whole city from side to side. You will understand the matter of accepting different perspectives bring us to more care about others.

Traveling is watching spring give life to the trees and accepting their abscission in the winter. All you have to do is enjoy the ride.
